The family finally comes together, but a lot of people (and monsters) do not make things easier. Netflix has released the first preview and release date of season two of The witcher, which sees Henry Cavill and Freya Allan return as the titular witcher and his new protected, but their favorite witch might be hard to find.

Netflix has unveiled some first photos and a behind-the-scenes teaser at its new internal event, WitcherCon, along with a release date of December 17th. In the video, which you can watch below, Allan (Ciri) and Anya Chalotra (Yennefer of Vengerberg) spotlight their characters’ journeys in the first season and tease fans about what’s to come in the future.

The witcher season two will see Geralt (Cavill) train his new ward Ciri to the famous wizarding house, Kaer Morhen. The two have spent most of the first season trying to find each other, but now that they’re finally together and learning how to fight monsters side-by-side, things seem more complicated than ever. It’s even harder as they are without Yennefer, who is in a precarious situation after his sacrifice at the Battle of Sodden. But don’t worry, raffle fans: Dandelion (Joey Batey) is back, and this pic shows he’s rockier than ever.

These tavern-goers might not care about his song, but we are sure.

We also have a hint of what twists and turns we can expect this season, as Netflix has revealed (most) the titles for the next eight episodes:

Episode 1: “A grain of truth”
Episode 2: “Kaer Morhen”
Episode 3: “What is Lost”
Episode 4: “Redanian intelligence”
Episode 5: “Turn Your Back”
Episode 6: “Dear Friend”
Episode 7: “Voleth Meir”
Episode 8: [REDACTED]

Here’s the official synopsis: “Convinced that Yennefer’s life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, Geralt of Rivia takes Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows, his childhood home in Kaer Morhen. As the kings, elves, humans and demons of the continent fight for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the maiden from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses within her. inside.

The second season sees the arrival of several new cast members. They include Kim bodnia as Geralt’s mentor Vesemir, who also has his own anime prequel story with The Witcher: The Wolf’s Nightmare. In addition, we have Game of thrones’ Kristofer Hivju as Nivellen, Cassie Clare as Phillipa Eilhart, Liz Carr as Fenn, and Chris Fulton as Rience, a character who could serve as the main antagonist for the second season. It’s also worth noting that the penultimate episode is named after another key character from The witcher story, Voleth Meir, who would be played by Ania Marson (according to Redanian intelligence).

The witcher season two debuts on Netflix on December 17th.
