Young justice is a pretty good show most of the time, and after its cancellation by Cartoon Network in 2013, fans finally managed to ensure a third season a few years later for HBO Max. Between that and its recent creation season four, you’d think the fanbase’s passion would have secured a fifth season for the series by now, but that’s not the case, according to showrunner Greg Weisman.

On Weisman’s website, where he answers questions from fans and gives updates on his work, the man behind fleeting gems such as Gargoyles and Spectacular Spider-Man asked fans of the show to watch the show. Since season five is not a firm guarantee quite Still, he urged fans to binge on the superhero spy show as much as possible to make it a reality, as he and the creative forces behind the show certainly have more stories to tell. “If fans want more of Earth-16 (the universe where the show takes place),” he wrote, “the answer is simple: #KeepBingingYJ (the four seasons) over and over again. And again and again. And help us #SpreadTheWord. We want to # SaveEarth16.

Weisman’s words are pretty obvious – “hey, watch the show on official channels if you want more,” wild concept! With the popularity of DC televisions in all areas, and their animated offerings in particular, this show with such a strong built-in fan base that saved it from death looked like something you’re sure would have several seasons behind it after being relaunched. As boring as this dance between viewer and business can be, it’s what fans sometimes have to do if they want to save their favorite shows from a premature end.

The first three episodes of Young Justice: Ghosts are available now on HBO Max, with new episodes airing weekly on Thursdays.
