Demi Lovato knows how to stay relevant on the web.
The “Stone Cold” singer debuted with a new tattoo on his Instagram Stories this weekend: a very realistic image of a spider perched on the side of Lovato’s head, just above his ear.

The image, which features 3D-style details and shading, was taken by acclaimed Los Angeles-based tattoo artist Dr. Woo, whose work adorns the bodies of celebrities like Miley Cyrus., Justin bieber, Zoe Kravitz and Duck.
And if you wish you had been a fly on the wall during the process, you’re in luck, as Lovato posted a snap of themselves getting inked.

On Instagram, Lovato posted what appears to be a quote from Marilyn kinsellaTalk about “The spider grandmother brings light“, which Kinsella says based in part on a Cherokee version of the tale.

“It was Grandma Spider who taught us a lot of things,” Lovato’s post read. “She taught us pottery and weaving. She taught us about fire, light and darkness. She taught us that we are all connected to the web – each of us has our place in this world. “
I just hope for Lovato’s sake that no one mistakes his new tattoo for a real spider and tries to crush it with a newspaper.
